Track Description
THE HOLDING OTHERS ACCOUNTABLE TRACK®
This Accountability Sequence Training® is based on the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Amazon.com bestselling book, How Did That Happen? Holding People Accountable for Results The Positive, Principled Way. This Training provides a powerful guide for anyone, at any level of the organization, to holding others accountable for results in the positive, principled way.
The central feature in this training is The Accountability Sequence Model,® which consists of two parts: the Outer Ring® and the Inner Ring.® The Outer Ring describes how to effectively establish the expectations that we hold others accountable to fulfill. The Inner Ring addresses how to manage unmet expectations in a way that will turnaround performance and help others achieve the result. The entire training concentrates on increasing both individual and organizational capability for fulfilling Key Expectations - where failure to deliver is not an option.
There are two sides to the “accountability coin:” taking personal accountability and holding others accountable. Partners In Leadership’s popular The Oz Principle® Accountability Training® focuses on the first side, taking greater personal accountability for achieving Key Organizational results. Now, with the Accountability Sequence Training, they tackle the other side of the accountability coin, holding others accountable in a way that simultaneously produces results and builds morale.

THE ACCOUNTABILITY SEQUENCE® |
 |
Completing their comprehensive three-part series on accountability, Partners In Leadership’s New York Times bestseller, How Did That Happen? introduces the complete framework for holding people accountable with the Accountability Sequence.
The Sequence highlights the key to holding others accountable in a way that produces results, motivation and morale: effectively establishing expectations by taking the steps in the Outer Ring. THE ACCOUNTABILITY SEQUENCE®
Based on their bestselling book, How Did That Happen?, Partners In Leadership begins this workshop by introducing the Accountability Sequence model and the Outer and Inner Ring. They introduce the pivotal concept of Key Expectations, which guides the group’s work throughout the day. Participants take the Outer Ring Organizational Assessment and discuss the implications of their rankings.
THE OUTER RING:® FORM EXPECTATIONS
The group works with the concept of Accountability Styles and learns how to maximize the advantages and avoid the disadvantages of each of the common styles. Applying the concept of the Expectations Chain, participants work on applying Form (the first step in the Outer Ring for establishing Key Expectations) to their list of the Top Five people they depend on for results. The organizational leader presents the Key Expectations the team will be working to achieve.
THE OUTER RING:® COMMUNICATE EXPECTATIONS
In this segment, the focus shifts to the Why-What-When® model for communicating expectations, which participants explore through an interactive and engaging exercise. They apply the communication model to the organizational Key Expectation, as well as to their Top Five List.
THE OUTER RING:® ALIGN AND INSPECT EXPECTATIONS
Participants learn about two types of alignment: Complyment and Complete Alignment. They apply the Alignment Dialogue™ to Key Expectations they are working to achieve. Participants also learn how they can more effectively inspect what they expect and “objectify” the inspection process in a way that builds trust and morale.
THE INNER RING:® MANAGING UNMET EXPECTATIONS
Here, the group participates in an individual feedback exercise to discuss their Accountability Connections. They learn about and practice the Accountability Conversation (the key tool for working with the Inner Ring), which they practice in an interactive exercise that includes the application of the four solutions of the Inner Ring. Participants complete their plan for applying The Accountability Sequence to their Top Five List.
