A popular feature of the PILtools website is the Assessment system. These assessments are exclusive to
PILtools.com and are an excellent tool for assessing your proficiency and monitoring your progress in applying the Accountability Training
® Best Practices.
This robust array of Self, 360°, and Team assessments help identify your current accountability levels and measure your progress as you implement the online training. These assessments are based on the Best Practices from the guided tutorials and include Modeling, Transparency in Reporting, Feedback, Ownership, Accountability Gaps, and more!
These assessment tools can be found as a step in every section of the "Application Tools" and "Learning Tools" portions of the PILtools website. Many of the assessments you will be using are Self-Assessments; however, you will also find 360° and Team Assessments available exclusively for
licensing clients.
Self-Assessments
Available to all users are the Self-Assessments that allow you to evaluate how well you understand or apply a particular concept/model. These assessments are most effective when taken at the beginning of your training and used to set new learning goals and then taken 60 days later in order to measure your progress. This process creates a before and after picture of where you were and where you are now.
360° Assessments
Exclusively offered to
licensed clients, the 360° Assessments are a powerful organizational tool that enables you to receive assessments that focus on specific accountability principles or Best Practices, such as Exchanging Feedback, from multiple perspectives. These assessments, created from the perspective of your colleagues, help you measure your progress in implementing the accountability principles and Best Practices. Users choose one of the accountability principles or Best Practices from the guided tutorials and then invite participants or groups to the 360° assessment. As more and more participants take their own 360˚ assessment an average organization score is generated which allows you to compare your own score related to the average score of all those who participated.
Team Assessments
Exclusively offered to
licensed clients the Team Assessments help you accelerate team performance by exploring and measuring your teams current performance. These Team Assessments are often used with Self- and 360° Assessments to gage progress and provide a comprehensive way to encourage positive and measurable change. Team Assessments are also used to generate dialogue and commitment to new levels of future team performance.
Assessment Results
These assessments deliver prolific results that aid in determining how well the training is being implemented into the workplace. For each question, you will see your personal scores compared to the population scores. The population
scores are the averages of all the scores of everyone from your organization that has taken this assessment. The difference between these two scores is referred to as your "Personal Gap" and the "Population Gap".
You should pay particular attention to the Gap. The lower the Gap, the better your performance. The Gap is the difference between the ideal score, which is a "10," and the average score. A high number means a large Gap and a greater need for improvement. This simply signifies that you need to make more progress in this area than the average of all people in the organization taking the assessment does.
The object is to lower your gap. The lower your gap number, the greater proficiency you are demonstrating with these accountability principles and Best Practices. You should consider not only the comparison to the population gap, but also the size of your own gap to determine where you should begin your efforts for improvement.
